Listen in as cybersecurity expert Stella Magana shares top ideologies and actions to avoid as a woman seeking to build a successful career in science. The talk brings out the importance of taking stock on ones career and academic belief system and it’s impact thereof. One of the important questions she asks include who is a mentor? We’ve fantasized about the importance of a mentor that somehow along the way we actually missed the point. According to Stella Magana, a mentor is someone you can relate to, reach out to when you need guidance, and understand what you’re actually going through.

Stella specializes in Digital Forensics and presented a paper on Link Analysis and Data Visualization in Forensics in the very first SheHacks HackFest. She has been a member of SheHacks Kenya since it’s inception in 2018. She is currently the Technical Lead and is responsible for conceiving and developing hypothesis, techniques and approaches to address critical cybersecurity technical problems and programs.
