Science is gender neutral : Bridging the gap between science and women
The fight for women empowerment has definitely come a long way. This is due to the resilience of strong women who fought for their place in the field of science at a time when women were considered incapable.

About the speaker
Prof Miriam Kinyua is a research scientist, entrepreneur and mentor, keen on transforming young people into experts. Prof Miriam Kinyua is a professor of biotechnology at University of Eldoret, researcher, mentor, and a director at Kagaki School. She has worked as the Centre Director at the Kenya Agricultural Research Institute KARI and Livestock Research Organisation (KARI). Recently, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) invited her to speak on nuclear plant breeding technology to decision makers at an international conference in Rome. For the last five years, the International Atomic Energy Agency has engaged her for several assignments and other international organizations have funded 13 of her research projects in 17 years.
