
Creating a youth-first economy
When it comes to speaking about youth and their employability there are many dynamics from which this topic can be approached from. One of the questions we all have to ask is whether our youth are unemployed or simply unemployable. In this event, we have speakers who will explore this topic through a number of talks as scheduled below:
- Imelda Ngunzu
Imelda recently won the coveted East Africa Com’s Female innovator of the year Award, 2021. Imelda is also the chair for Women Leadership Network, WLN, Nairobi Chapter. A Mastercard initiative with members across the globe that seeks to empower women employees and create the next generation of women leaders in the society. Imelda will be talking about being ready for the next opportunity as a youth. - William Nguru
William is a Technical Product Manager at Kurasa Africa Ltd. William has worked with Strathmore Research Innovation Lab, Clinton Foundation and Mobile Decisioning Africa as Software engineer working on various products in the health sector and in financial services. He will be speaking to young changemakers on what the right path looks like. - Nancy Muriithi
Nancy is a mentor at MPESA-Foundation, a cybersecurity engineer and the coordinator-programs and operations at Shehacks KE. She will be speaking on the difference between being unemployed and being unemployable and how to engage mentorship in entrepreneurship.
